Explanatory Notes: As explained in The Rule of the Franciscan Order document, "a religious order is based on a rule". In the Constitutions of the Benedictines, it says "the constitutions interpret the Rule, yet they cannot be understood apart from it... (even if it includes) spirituality and history (since it concerns) the heritage."
