Some members with Archbishop Pakiam and Fr. Jestus
The Catholic Lawyers Society (CLS) Committee Members 2012/2013 recently met with His Grace Archbishop Murphy Pakiam.
CLS Spiritual Advisor, Fr. Jestus Pereira was in attendance, together with CLS Advisor Dato’ Peter Mooney. Also present were current and past CLS Committee Members and several CLS members.
His Grace shared a few inspiring words with all present. He reminded the CLS that we need a strong foundation of faith and spirituality in carrying our good works. He suggested that CLS members go on a silent retreat yearly, away from the busy-ness of daily life, to develop a closer relationship with God and to focus on deepening knowledge of the faith.
His Grace shared Dato’ Peter Mooney’s story as an example worthy of emulation. He thanked the CLS for the support it has given to the Archdiocese and encouraged us to carry on with its proposed programs for the year.
Fr Jestus then shared about his role in the marriage tribunal and there was an animated discussion on how CLS members could help out in the tribunal in the future.
It was a memorable night which marks the start of a fulfilling year ahead for the CLS.
