CLS Press Statement: MP Nik Zawawi’s Remarks on Bible in Parliament Insulting to Christians

The Catholic Lawyers’ Society Kuala Lumpur is issuing this Statement to record its shock and dismay at the remarks made by the Member of Parliament for Pasir Puteh, Dr. Nik Muhammad Zawawi Bin Haji Salleh recently in the Dewan Rakyat.

CLS Press Statement: SUHAKAM Inquiry Panel's Findings

The conclusion of the SUHAKAM Inquiry Panel on the disappearance of Amri Che Mat and Pastor Raymond Koh; that they are victims of enforced disappearances carried out by the Special Branch, Bukit Aman, Kuala Lumpur, is very disturbing.

CLS Press Statement: AG Must Act Against Ibrahim Ali's call To Burn Malay Bible

The Catholic Lawyers’ Society, Kuala Lumpur (CLS) is deeply disappointed that the Attorney General (AG) will not prosecute Datuk Ibrahim Ali for his calls to the Muslims to seize and burn the Bahasa Malaysia version of the Holy Bibles on the basis that the latter was only defending the sanctity of Islam.

CLS Press Statement: CLS Offers Our Deepest Condolences To Families Of MH17

The Catholic Lawyers Society of Malaysia (CLS) wishes to express its deepest condolences to the families of those on board MH17.

The CLS calls for a full and comprehensive investigation to identify and bring to justice the perpetrators of this henious crime that has robbed so many of their lives and loved ones.

CLS Press Statement: CLS Welcomes New Archbishop Of Kuala Lumpur

The Catholic Lawyers’ Society, Kuala Lumpur congratulates and welcomes our new Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur, Archbishop Elect Most Rev. Julian Leow Beng Kim.

On 3 July, 2014 Pope Francis appointed Father Julian Leow Beng Kim, 50,  as the new archbishop of Kuala Lumpur.

His Excellency, Archbishop Joseph Marino, the Apostolic Nuncio to Malaysia made the announcement at the archbishop’s residence in Kuala Lumpur. Read more »
