As I reflect on this passage of this Sunday’s gospel reading (Luke 1: 19-31), I reminiscent on the loss of our dear priests and religious recently.
This year alone we have lost Frs Henriot, Phillips Muthu and Peter Kim from our KL Archdiocese and Fr Richard Khoo from the Kuching Archdiocese. Not to forget, Sr Teresa Chong (Carmelite) and many others. Read more »

Here I Am, Here I Stay

A Requiem Mass was held at the said church on 21 May 2016 organised by the CLS.
Presiding at the Mass was Rev. Father Peter Kim SJ, who had also presided at Peter Mooney’s funeral Mass on 27 April 2015. Read more »

Seek Justice In Fair, Moderate Manner, KL Archbishop Tells Lawyers

Submitted by newsteam on Sun, Jan 24, 2016 - 5:00 pmThe Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) refers to the statement by the Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S Subramaniam that the Cabinet is looking into solving the problem of unilateral child conversion and introducing amendments to related laws.
MCCBCHST hopes that the root cause of the problem, i.e. the unilateral conversion of minors by a single parent would be RESOLVED. Read more »

No Room For Religious And Racial Extremism In Selangor

He said that Selangor is referred to as the epi-centre of people with different races and faith and the State Government is duty bound to protect the harmony and tolerance amongst all races and religious communities in the State. Read more »

CFM Against Shrinking Public Space For Religious Expression And Increasing Religious Repression

The CFM also notes the worrying trend of curbing freedom of religious expressions without prior consultation with stakeholders.
The overall environment of religious acceptance and understanding deteriorates as the country is dragged from one incident of intolerance to another. Read more »

Peter Mooney – A servant Than A Master
Submitted by newsteam on Sun, May 24, 2015 - 10:00 amThe family of the late Sir Dato Dr Peter Mooney arranged the celebration of the Eucharist at St Michael’s Church, Ipoh to coincide with Peter’s 92nd birthday.
The mass was celebrated by Rev Fr. Robin Andrews and con-celebrated by Rev Fr. Peter Kim, SJ on Saturday, 23rd May 2015.
Prof. Dr. Ghazali Musa, one of Peter's adopted sons, explained that although Peter’s birthday falls on 22nd May, the Mass was celebrated the following day to allow many to attend since it is a weekend. Read more »

First Red Mass 2015 Held In Malacca-Johor Diocese

The Red Mass being held for the first time in the Malacca-Johor diocese was presided by His Lordship Bishop Paul Tan.
Con-celebrants included Msgr James Rajendran, Rev Fr. Valentine Gompok OFM Cap, Rev Fr. John Baptist Yeow and Rev Fr. Michael Teng. Read more »

I remember trying to make them feel better by saying that I too had been arrested. But it sounded hollow.
